how do I migrate my imovie 10.0.1 library to an external drive?

I've already backed up my iMovie library to external, and currently have both the new copy (on external) and the original files (on the internal HD). I would like to redirect iMovie to work in the future from the external, to free up the nearly 200GB that are currently consumed in my startup disk. How do I do this?
