Q: Trying Recover Data from an In Progress Sparsebundle

My Time Machine backup was in progress when my hard drive in my iMac failed. Long story short, the hard drive in the iMac has been fixed, but now I am trying to recover data from the Time Machine backup. The sparsebundle was corrupt. I was able to repair it using Disk Utility and Diskwarrior.

I've scoured the web but haven't found a resolution to my exact issue. I've tried the "open other backup disks" from Time Machine, have tried migration assistant, etc. Nothing works. From what I can tell I should be able to manually get to the files, but there is where I get stuck.

I am able to double-click the file and get the "Time Machine Backups" disk. When I open this I see the sparsebundle in progress. I right-click to show package contents, open Backups.backupdb and I see the bands of folders. When I look in each band, I see a "Macintosh HD" folder in each one, but it is grayed out and I can't open it. I'm assuming the files I need are in there, but I can't figure out how to get in there.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks!
