Calendar won't create in iPhoto 11

I still havent seen a fix for this yet. Whenever I chose to create a Calendar project iPhoto hangs showing a orange background screen but no templates to start working with,

Creating a card works though,

I have done what other forums suggest I've sought out the com.apple.iphoto.plist file and deleted it and restarted iPhoto.

I've rebuilt my database, using other software. This was because holding down Alt doesnt worlk, I get to chose my iPhoto database and then it starts as normal??

Anyway, its driving me mad and no one in these forums or Apple seem to have a fix.

I don't have a huge database, probabaly 600 photos. 21GB of HD space and my 18mth old MacBook Air is still pretty zippy RAMwise.

Any thoughts?

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

If you experience the same problem try the following:

1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete iPhoto's cache file delete the contents the following folder:

User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/

Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto

User uploaded file

3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.

NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View âž™ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

User uploaded file

where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

I've done this, but still no joy.

I'm of the opinion that there may be conflicting software on here perhaps.

The reason I'm suggesting this is because this works on my much larger photo library on my Apple Mac, (which is also using Mavericks). But on my MacBook Air I have only a few photos. I have even created a new library file with no photos and it still happens when I want to create a book or calendar. So I'm concluding that maybe the photos or database isn't the problem.

What do you think? Any other suggestions welcome.
