Pictures on an aging iMac
I use Aperture on an aging iMac with 15K pictures. Is there a platform to move the pics off of the iMac, but still have access and the ability to stream to Apple TV as well as to back them up?
iMac, iOS 7.0.4

What do you mean by platform? Are you are getting rid of the Mac and going to a PC? Are you getting a new Mac?
Sorry, I meant a separate drive or something like that. With two kids in college, the new Mac will need to wait!
In that case most external drives on the market today will work for this.
Basically you would put your originals as referenced on the new external drive and keep the library on the internal drive.
With this setup all Aperture and other functions of the Mac will continue to work as they do now.
If this comes closer to addressing your issue post back with any further questions. If I'm still misinterperting your questions try to explain in a bit more detail what you need to do.
