New user, lost my icons at bottom of screen, how do I get them back. No I did not delete them.

Hi, I am a new user, still learning and have lots of questions. For now...icons at bottom of screen went away. Still there somewhere, trying to get them back, came back quickly and gone again...no idea what I did. How do I retrieve them? Thanks
