I get a poor signal where I have the apple tv and I was wondering if I could use an adapter to get a stronger signal
If you mean an (extender / repeater) then yes....my ATV is too far away from my wireless router for a dependable signal....a repeater in the middle of the house solved the problem....
No, an adapter. Signal is good in the rest of the house so was hoping to get a $20 adapter instead of a $150 extender but thanks.

Move the ATV, the Wi-Fi router, or run Ethernet cable.
A Wi-Fi adaptor will not provide any benefit.
