Conflict Catcher

I have CC v9.0.1 installed in a G3 B&W running OS 9.2.1

In the prefs I have "no icons displayed at startup" but I find that OS 9 allows five icons to be displayed along the bottom, two of which are extensions and three are control panels. All of these are not disabled.

What is the reason for this and how do I eliminate these from being displayed?

A blast from the past! I miss Conflict Catcher. The reason to show no icons, is that each icon shown is a slowdown at startup. Part of the problem with no protected memory in Mac OS 9 was that any added fluff at startup could slow you down.

The sequence of starting extensions could affect which extensions are shown. Conflict catcher if I remember allowed you to edit the sequence based on how the names of the extensions sorted. You could always edit the names if the program using them allowed it. Always test on a backup before trying it live, because extension conflicts could arise if the sequence wasn't right.

Thanks...yes CC was and still is a great piece of software.

Through process of elimination I've drilled this down to one icon remaining in the lineup at the bottom of the screen, open transport extension. All the rest are hidden as CC insructs.

How could I hide this one as well? Not sure if re-naming it would make any difference. Open to suggestions.

Thanks again!
