Q: Trackpad can't pinch to zoom in/out on Mavericks...

Hi There,

After upgarde to Mavericks in few days later, I got an issue on the trackpad it doesn't work longer to pinch zoom in/out on all of my picture, DOC, PDF.........

But it is only work fine on Safari, so I was confusing this problem may solve by myself or it can't fix it now.....

As I noted some solution on another post there, but it seems hasn't solve my problem at all. So I just explain right here:

1. Although restart the mac, the trackpad will only work fine on pinch zoom function for a while. Then it won't be work again.

2. Run off the power selection and wake up the mac, pinch zoom might only work for a while... Then it won't be work again.

I hope somebody may figure it out with my problem and give me an answer of it.

Thanks

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

    did u drop your laptop

if so go to a nearby computer store

if not then go to system prefrences and click trackpad (no brainer) and go to "scroll and zoom" and make sure that zoom in and out is checked.

If nothing works there then take you laptop to a nearby computer store

Thanks for your answer... But I pretty sure that it was a bug issue on my mac without any problem on the hardware indeed. All of the selection on "trackpad" has been done but still doesn't solve this problem... HELP.......

This happens to me periodically since the Mavericks upgrade. I've gotten used to it, and just Restart in order to restore the inoperative trackpad functionality. I will call AppleCare and reply here with their response.

I just bought a brand new iMac and have updated everything... i also am having the same problem with the pinch zoom not working. Have restarted the device...

it is not working on Safari as well as pictures.. and google maps... not sure how to troubleshoot this. I have verified that the trackpad settings has all the options ticked!

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

Same here. Just got a brand new 27 iMac with Mavericks and Magic Trackpad and am intermittently loosing zoom function. I think this problem is connected to the display going to sleep. This is my first Apple computer, been using Windows since mid 90s. Love my Mac but this little problem is annoying. I hope they fix it in Yosemite.

I've got the same problem. First, I thought it's a problem with photoshop, then I also noticed this problem in other apple apps (fotos, and so on).

I've got this problem with the build in Trackpad and with the brand new MagicTrackpad (late 2015).

Only a restart helps, but just for a little while. Then I've to restart again.

Before the maveric update, I didn't had this issue.

I'm using a 13" MacBook Pro with retina display. Pluged in, I use a Cintig 13HD (no touch version).
