The answer to your question depends on what you wish to do with your Apple ID. As you can see from the article below ... you can use one Apple ID for iTunes Store purchases and everything you do with iCloud. Or, you can create a separate Apple ID for iCloud.

If you created a separate Apple ID account, and no longer wish to use it ... you simply need to sign out of your current iTunes and iCloud accounts and sign back in with the Apple ID you wish to use. Apple ID's cannot be deleted. You just won't use it.
