Apple iPod Camera Connector

Why doesent the Apple iPod Camera Connector work with all cameras,
Not all cameras use the same protocol or implement the protocol correctly.

if I attached a card reader to it with a media card with pictures on it, will they transfer?
Maybe, maybe not for the same reasons.

I found that my camera connector worked great on one camera, not at all on an older one, and kind of / sort of on my third. (yes, I'm a gadget freak, I know).

On the third camera, it went through the upload process, but when I hooked my iPod up to my computer later - no pictures. So, in light of the fact that not all cameras use the same protocols, it makes perfect sense!

I would be really interested in your tests with the card reader (and I might pull one of mine out, to see too!)

When i plug my camera through my camera connector to my 5th generation iPod, I hit import and my iPod crashes every time. It then restarts and I do the same thing and the same thing happens.
Why is this?
