Q: Help! Newbie with ipod touch query.

I have bought an ipod for my partner for Christmas and want to load it with music before giving it to her. To do this, I need to set it up with her details. How can I do this without her receiving emails from Apple which would spoil the surprise?

    You really can't. The only way would be if you had access to her mail to delete the receipts from iTunes, and since those can come in minutes or days after the purchase, the chances of you getting them all is pretty slim.

     

    It's a nice effort but there's really no way to do it without ruining the surprise.

    Thankyou for your reply. I don't know if this makes a difference, but the music I want to load on the new ipod is on my computer. It's both tunes I purchased from iTunes, and stuff from my own CDs. I'm thinking maybe I can do it on Christmas Eve, and then she won't see anything on her PC until after she has received her present. Is there an alternative, though?

    Music purchased from iTunes is tied to your Apple ID.  As such you cannot put it on her iPad with her details/Apple ID as it would not be authotized to play it.

     

    Its a nice effort, but just give your partner the iPad and let them set it up and get their music. In the end it will be better this way.
