I can't pair my HDM Jam speaker with IOS 7.0.4 - pairing unsuccessful

My iPad 2 running iOS 7.0.4 won't pair with my HMDX Jam Bluetooth speaker. It "finds" the speaker but pairing is unsuccessful. Any suggestions?

Make sure all other bluetooth devices are turned off. I had the same problem. My speaker would pair with my iPhone but not my ipad. I turned bluetooth off on my phone and bingo my ipad paired straight away
