Q: 23 acd on an iMac
I will be purchasing a new 2013 imac. I want to use my existing 23 inch ACD as a second monitor hooked to the displayport using the required adapter. My question is whether or not all the ports on the back of the ACD will continue to work as before? I want to be able to use the USB ports at the very least.
Will they all work as before? This monitor is currently in use with a Macpro 1,1 which I am retiring

The USB ports will work if you connect the display's USB cable to the computer. You won't get the computer's USB 3 speeds, though.
To use the display's FireWire ports you need to connect to a Thunderbolt port via two adapters.

You can use the computer's HDMI port for the video if you don't want to use a second Thunderbolt port.
