Hi. I registered for Apple ID and successfully verified it. Now, even when I am trying to download free apps it's asking me to enter my card details for review. My question is - what is meant by security code? Is it same as the 3 D secure pin?

If it's an Amex card then it's the 4 digit code on the front of it, for other cards it's the 3 digit code on the back of it (usually on the signature strip) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3541
its the three digit code on back of all cards except american express 4 on the front here.
