Dr Dre Beatbox NOT working after update...HELP!

BACKGROUND:

We purchased a Dr Dre Beatbox when my husband and I each had an iPhone 4S. It worked perfectly. After an iOS update, my husband's black iPhone 4S quit working in the dock, but still worked using an aux cord connected to the Beatbox. My white 4S still worked both ways; dock or aux cord.


FAST FORWARD TO NOW:
We have now both upgraded to the iPhone 5S. I realize that the phone will no longer fit in the dock itself, but my phone is NOT WORKING when connected by aux cord to the Beatbox. Music will come out of my phone itself, but then when I plug it into the aux port on the Beatbox... I get NOTHING. No sound at all. 😟 I've tried everything I can think of. I've even tried different aux cords. Nothing works.


My phone DOES work with an aux cord in my vehicle and also in other docking stations - (I had it plugged into a Bose last week and it worked perfectly). So I just don't understand why it won't work using an aux cord with the Beatbox. ?????


Can someone PLEASE help?!! I really don't want a $400 paperweight in my living room, but it seems that is what the Beatbox has become. I'm irrate.

Just wanted to add that I solved my own problem last night. 🙂



TO FIX:

Hold down the power button on the Beatbox for 3 seconds (or a little longer). This is the manuel "reset" for the Beatbox, and it is now recognizing my iPhone 5S with the aux cord!! Hallelujah!!


I'm guessing this will have to be done periodically after software updates, since the iOS updates seem to always be the culprit in devices not working properly.


Also, this only fixes issues with the Dr Dre Beatbox. For other docking station issues; Bose, iHome, etc... I'd check your manual to see if they also have a "hard reset" that can be manually done.
