Feb 4, 2015 9:41 AM in response to Sherri.hby hollysfbct,I get the "not responding" issue 30 times a day or more because this is our departments main document source, and have reported/sent a log to that affect since upgrading to a new macbook with Mavericks and newest Pages app last summer. I didn't have this problem for years prior with the same type of files in Pages.
My pages locks up anytime I try to print a hardcopy or print to pdf. I never try to "save" as it always saves my work, even when it locks up. However, when I force quit and reopen, every file I have used that day opens and I'll have 20 or so documents flying up on my screen to be closed. I looked at the reports I've been sending and one weird thing is that it says my documents are around 2,000 pages long, when most are only a page or two.
Our IT tech has tried everything except trashing it altogether and forcing us back to Word. I'm following this in hopes that someone will have a wonderful word of wisdom on how to resolve this issue.
We do store our files on a network and on our desktops and have the same issue with both. Also, I print to a network copier as well as a local desktop printer - also with the same issues at both. So, we have ruled out networking as the problem. Of course, we have also tried reinstalling mavericks and pages without improvement.
We have a weekly routine and service. We reuse a lot of the same files from last week as the template for this week as it saves time with a majority of the info being needed for the newest document for the week. We have not tried creating all new files from scratch in the new pages. These were all originally created in the old Pages. To do this would take a couple of weeks worth of man-hours at the least.

Feb 4, 2015 10:03 AM in response to hollysfbctby tkoes,What brand of printer/copier are you printing to? Everyone seems to be having issues only with Sharp equipment. Is this your experience as well?

Feb 4, 2015 1:51 PM in response to hollysfbctby PeterBreis0807,…after all that and yet you persist in using an application that is substantially crippled and threatens all your work?
Who do you work for?
Peter

Helpful responses only, please. Telling you why we must continue to use this software despite its flaws and revealing personal information such as who I work for will not help myself or others with our Pages issue.
