Dec 30, 2013 5:42 PM in response to john77577by AkanomiDev,When I tried to download OSX Mavericks, I clicked the [Free Upgrade] button and it would think for about three seconds, then the [Free Download] would come back. I searched and searched for the answer, then figured I'd try it woth another Apple account, so I exited the App Store, and restarted it, at which point I saw that the download was in progress and had been for some time.
Apparently there is a bug in the App Store Updates page.

Won't do anything else. I was able to download it w/ out any problems on my Macbook air from mid 2011. Not sure what the problem is.

Jan 10, 2014 11:17 AM in response to Beth Parsonsby vidomia,Beth,
I had this similar problem, but I managed to solve it with this trick :Open the AppStore, find the Maverick product page
Hold on OPTION (alt) key while clicking on download .
As soon you see the little X sign going to your launchbar open launchbar quickly,
Then hold again alt to click on the delete button (X) in front of the installer. You'll be able to click then once again on download, and it should be then OK

Jan 19, 2014 5:34 PM in response to vidomiaby Gregoire100,I am having the same problem with May 2010 Macbook Pro running 10.6.8. When I push the download button, it seems to start, but craps out after about 3 seconds, and nothing seems to happen, no status bar. I tried holding the option key, still same result. Anybody have solutions? Thanks.

Feb 23, 2014 7:41 PM in response to john77577by rhodaime,I had the same problem and it was driving me insane for a couple of hours till i figured it out. I was trying to upgrade from 10.6.8 on my imac to mavericks 10.9. I would click free download and for 3 seconds it would stall, trying download and then nothing would happen.
The problem was LITTLESNITCH. After i uninstalled (use the uninstaller that comes with the app and not any other 3rd party app uninstaller, google littlesnitch uninstaller if you are not sure) it, i rebooted the imac, tried the download again and voilla, everything was smooth sailing again.
I hope this helps someone.

Mar 31, 2014 8:14 PM in response to vidomiaby tumpy2,Vidoma, I'm having the same problem. I've gone through what I though was the "install" , but I'm not seeing Mavericks when I check my apple icon " about this Mac". It says OS X 10.9.2, but doesn't say Mavericks. Also, when I look under my App Store-I still have the message "download" to the right of Mavericks under "Purchases". I click "Download" and it seems to be installing something, shows a status bar, gradually "filling" blue, takes about 40 minutes. Then, nothing. I've done this like 3 times, but can't find any thing that confirms or shows that I have downloaded. Where would I see that I have actually successfully upgraded?
Thanks anyone for HELP!!!

May 24, 2014 3:28 AM in response to john77577by guapagirl,This issue is still not resolved. I am up to date, I've tried the options work around and no joy. Why do Apple insist on making us do this if they can't get the technology right?

May 24, 2014 7:54 AM in response to tumpy2by babowa,It says OS X 10.9.2, but doesn't say Mavericks
10.9.x is Mavericks.
And it will remain available for furture downloads in case you need/want to do it again.

May 24, 2014 2:14 PM in response to guapagirlby Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

I have done twice now. First off when I tried originally and then again. I don't think they really care that much.
