How do I delete a .cdr file?

I recently successfully copied a data CD using Disk Utility. I first created a disc image after which the copy was successfully burnt.

Now when I use Disk Utility I find the disk image listed on the left of the window as a .cdr file with my external drives, etc.. If I search for the file using Spotlight I get no results, and the .cdr file is not visible on the desktop.

I would like to get rid of it now I have made the backup, but all the "eject" options within Disk Utility are greyed out when I highlight the .cdr file.

Can anyone advise me how to get rid of this?

Many thanks,

Peter Wilson.

G5 1.8 SP early model, Mac OS X (10.4.7), 1 Gig of RAM, 2 external firewire drives.
