Ipod 5th gen wont connect Please help!!

My ipod is not recognized by my computer or itunes, it charges when in my main plug but not connecting when i use usb with laptop what can i do??? ipod nano 5th gen.

I understand that your iPod nano is not recognized in iTunes. To troubleshoot this, choose an applicable article below that best describes your issue and is based on your operating system.

Windows	iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows iTunes reports that "iTunes cannot recognize this iPod at this time"
