Q: Why would "Matched" tracks show abbreviated run times, and only partially download on iOS (yet fully download on OS X)?
I recently downloaded a new album from the Amazon mp3 store and imported the tracks into iTunes. I've done this on occasion and have never had any issues.
This time, however, I'm having difficulty with two tracks. All 14 tracks of the album were imported successfully and matched to the cloud; the iTunes Match status for each track indicates it was "Matched" (not "Uploaded").
If I delete the tracks from my computer and just show them in the cloud, 2 of the tracks are listed at 1:32 in length vs. 3:49 and 3:23, respectively. If I redownload the "Matched" tracks from the cloud I get the full-length versions without issue on my MacBook Air (Mavericks) - they play complete from beginning to end.
On my iOS devices (7.0.4 - iPad2, iPhone5), however, I don't have the same luck. When in the cloud they both show the shortened time. Once downloaded, they only play to the 1:32 mark and then stop... or move right into the next song (without actually switching tracks... 1:32 will be one song, 1:33 will be the next, yet still retain the title of the previous).
I've tried removing the album completely from the cloud and redownloading the tracks fresh from Amazon, reimporting, and rematching yet get the same results each time. I'm confident it's not the tracks from Amazon as they play full-length without issue. Plus, iTunes Match is indicating that they are fully matched. Something seems to be off when downloading these tracks from the cloud onto an iOS device.
Advice?
