letter boxing in iMovie HD6 when importing Quicktime DV/DVCPRO 720 × 480

hi everyone

when I import Quicktime files into iMovie HD, I get letterboxing when I import DV/DVCPRO 720 × 480 codex.

i have tried all the initial settings: DV widescreen, HD 1030, and HD 720p, and letter boxing still occurs.

Does anyone have any ideas or fixes.

would appreciate your help.

movies from my flip video cam come in just fine with wide screen DV setting
