Thunder fly in screen

Help

Using my MacBook Pro last night and a small thunder fly got into the screen and died 😟

How can I get it out, it looks as if its between the LCD and back light.

Many thanks

I bought my MacBook Pro in April. The screen has always seemed to me to get marked up rather easily, but today (August 31) I opened it up to find a hair on the screen.

Well, I THOUGHT it was on the screen, but like others in this part of the forum, I discovered it was actually inside the screen.

I've never seen this before. Is it really taking them that long to fix it? Did you send it in or take it to a store?

I recently saw a consumer show on German television. They talked about a case were some bugs got underneath the plastic front of a Samsung TFT. It ended up being a warranty case as the screen is supposed to be sealed.
I'd give it a try and ask if they fix it for you. It's definitely not acceptable that bugs can crawl freely into your screen.

The same has just happened to my one-month-old MacBook Pro -- and to the LCD screen connected to my Mac Mini. There seems to be a plague of thrips this year.

By coincidence, the MacBook is about to go to Apple support to cure its 'fizzing' noise when running on battery power. I'd better contact them and see whether they can do anything about the dead thrip. It's bang in the middle of the screen, about the size of an en-dash.

Unfortunately the monitor connected to the mini is out of warranty. The problem's far worse than the odd dead pixel.

Last year I had a thunderfly on a dell monitor that I squished accidentally, thinking it was on the outside! I lived with it until the day after the warantee expired. At that point I dismantled the screen (they don't make it easy) and removed the remains of the bug, which was stuck between the backlight and the front panel.

You couldn't really describe the dell monitor as "sealed" (loads of vent holes). And I wasn't too worried about my 23" Cinema Display, until I saw one walking around in there earlier today! Little sod! Luckily he's either escaped or gone out of sight to die.

Now I'm concerned 'cause I'm finding them all over my MBP display (they love it)!

Apparently thrips don't like potted garlic plants, so maybe the solution is to keep one of them next to any monitors...?
