My ultimate goal is to get videos from my iphone onto youtube.. I would have uploaded the files directly to youtube from my iphone but I recieved an error message when i went to trim the video. It says my iphone doesnt have enough space to trim the video... so... I uploaded the videos to iphoto.. trimmed up the video.. and now I am ready to upload to youtbe.. but... I cant seem to do this directly from iphoto... and... I have do not know what the trimmed files directory is..?

Export the video from iPhoto to the Desktop:

File -> Export and set the Kind to Original

And upload directly from there. iPhoto has no direct method to upload to YouTube. iMovie has.

It is too early for me to judge whether this method works.  So far my video has been uploading for an hour and it appears there are 3 more hours to go.  Is this normal?

It's too early for me to answer that question as it has zero context. Uploading where? iPhoto has no ability to upload video that I know of.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

    - What version of iPhoto.

    - What version of the Operating System.

    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
