Q: I have PDF docs that I opened in iBooks on my iPad but can't see them on my iPhone 5s

I opened them from the internet and bought them into iBooks on my iPad so I could read them offline. I also want to be able to access them from my iPhone 5s so if I'm on the go and want to access them, I can. I have tried to sync but nothing happens. I didn't think it would have to purchase through iBooks for it to sync. HELP

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

You will need to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (even though they aren't iTunes purchases, if they are in the iBooks app then that should copy them over to your computer), and you can then sync them to your iPhone.

The 'sync collections' setting will only keep collections in-line between the devices on which you have it 'on' i.e. if you are have PDF or book on both devices and you move it into a collection on one device, then it will also be moved in the same collection on your other device(s) which have 'sync collections' 'on'. But if the PDF or book isn't on your other devices then it won't copy it onto it - you need to copy your PDFs / epubs / ibooks onto each device that you want them on.
