After upgrading to Mavericks and the new iWork Apps, I found that my old Pages 09 doesn't function anymore, I need to re-download it from the AppStore. I purchased this Pages 09 October 2012.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Check your "Applications/iWork '09" folder!
I know it's there but it's defect, only 67 MB in size and doesn't start up. That's why I need to download another one... ;-)
I followed Dr Ken's advice and found iWorks 09. Then I tried to open my document with Pages 09 but the following message appeared: You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. Seems as if it is impossible to change footnotes to endnotes when using iWorks 5.2?
You tried to open a Pages 5 file with Pages '09.
Export the Pages 5 file to Pages '09 format and try again.
