Printing cheques on my Kyocera FS 1120D

Pages insist on printing cheques down the left side of a page. With Lexmark, cheques can only be inserted centrally. How can I get Page to print centrally?

It is not Pages, it is your printer driver that decides which orientation to ptint.

Your Kyocera feeds in cheques long edge first.

Menu > File > Page Setup > Orientation > Portrait

Orientation has nothing to do with the paper shape. It is all about what direction the work faces on the paper.

Your layout is facing up in the same direction your cheque is going into the Printer, so it is Portrait.

You only select the other rotated icon when you want to turn your work sideways.

Sorry to have been so long responding, life is very hectic at the moment, but it would be good to get this sorted out.

I have tried both orientations in the menu you listed, but they both print down the left hand edge of the paper i e - if I put a cheque in the print misses it entirely. One orentation does print the cheque details in full, which would fit a cheque if I could insert it on the left instead of centrally, the other is hopeless.

It sounds like the Kyocera Print driver is not set up correctly.

Set up your cheque in a Pages document and print it to a full A4 or Letter size piece of paper fed in where the cheque goes (the manual paper feed?) then observe where it is printing.

If necessary create a template in Pages that has extra white space on the left to align it correctly on the paper.

Setting up the cheque top centre in a pages A4 document, has resulted in a cheque printing correctly across the top.

I couldjust carryon with that as a work-around.

However, out of interest, I then adjusted the size of the paper to a chque size - but it then again prints vertically down the left of an A4.

I think I shall have to be satisfied using the work-around.

Oops - just tried printing a cheque that way round, and the printer would not feed it - paper jam!

No, I did have it set up wider than tall. But that is when the jam occured, presenting th cheque landscape (widew edge first) the cheque is too short for the printer to grip it - hence the jam (the cheque got lot in the depths of the printer and I have had to do quit a strip dowwnn job to get it back!.)

So the cheque has t print portrait. I have tried opening the feed gates wide and inserting the cheque down the left side - but the printer feed whee is in the centre and doesn't grip the cheque. (the cheues are onlhy 85mm on the short edge.)

Perhaps I had better stick to hand writing!

(Sorry about all the tpos in that. I'll shall now have to leave it a few days and try experimenting some more another time. Thanks for you help)
