my aperture 3.4.5 is stuck in updating. I am on a mac pro. it will not open. I never started an update and when i try to open it says "aperture can not open while updating". I have turned off my computer and tried some basic fixes but nothing has worked. It has been 2 wks. any suggestions?

which fixes have you tried already?
just going to finder and stopping the update there and by reading online. I cannot find anything that works online. I tried opening aperture while pressing the command alt keys together which was one online fix but it did not work. I got the same message that aperture cannot open while updating. I can't get into aperture to attempt any fix through the program.

Is it updating the Aperture application or updating the aperture library?
If it is trying tto update the aperture application, I'd reinstall aperture. Did you buy from the AppStore or do you have the boxed retail version and a serial number?
