How do I upgrade IPAD 4.3.3 to 7??

I have a IPAD 2 and need to upgrade the software from 4.3.3 to 7. I am 75 and not up to speed with with technology but have been using a laptop for years.

But I need more hand holding to understand how to implement change than a tech savvy person. The ipad is for my wife to listen to books and Pandora, she has end stage Parkinson's and can not move any part of her body, but she can read and listen. I need assistance to upgrade. Thanks.

You need a computer (Mac or PC, Mac preferred) which has the latest release of iTunes installed on it. If the iPad has ever been associated to an iTunes installation, you have to use that.

Once you have iTunes, start up the program and then plug the iPad with its USB cable. In the sidebar of iTunes' window, the iPad will appear in the Devices section. Click on it to open its summary pane. There you will find a button that will get things rolling and carry out the update.

Unfortunately, iOS 4 did not incorporate a self-updating mechanism, hence the need for iTunes as the middleman.
