I want iMessage read receipts on but I don't want others to know I have read there messages. If I turn mine off and there's is on will it show read on there end? If it is off and I send a message will I see read if they have it on? Can I disable for certain people?

As stated in settings - message - send Read receipts:
allow others to be notified when you have read their message.
No you can't choose who, it all or nothing.
So if i turn it off and my friend has it on will it say read on their end or just delivered? My end would probably say delivered
Pretty straight forward. When you turn it on - it says right on the bottom of send read receipts:
Allow others to be notified, when you have read their message.
so if you turn it off - then others won't be notified when you have read their message.
