How do you upgrade to OS X Mavericks from Snow Leopard?
Would like to upgrade to OS X Mavericks from 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). Can't find Mountain Lion at the APPs store. How do I proceed?
Thanks.

Mike,
you don’t need Mountain Lion to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks. Your iMac is new enough that Mavericks supports it, so the App Store ought to make it available to you for downloading. If you haven’t done so already, first run Software Update to ensure that Snow Leopard is fully updated, and reboot if any Snow Leopard update requires it. Mavericks should be straightforward to locate within the App Store. Try looking in the “free apps” area — it should be among the top downloads there.
Make sure firstly that your Mac is compatable

Ignore the 2GB RAM, anyone here will tell you that it requires a minimum of 4GB RAM to work efficiently.
Also check that you Applications are compatable wit avericks or need updating. An example is Office 2004 which will not work in Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks. Any PPC programs will now not work in Mavericks.
