Q: Can not insert my sim in to ipad mini cellular

Hi All - what am I doing wrong...?! I have clicked the outside of the SIM off to reveal the micro sim. Size wise it tessellates with the sIm tray - but it does not seem to click in and seems too 'thick' to insert and I am nervous about ramming it in as this is brand new!
What am I doing wrong?

Yes, I have the Apple PDF for the product.

Advice please!
