iPhone 5 shuts down with 20% battery remaining

I apologize if this issue has been discussed already. It's a hard topic to find because I do not have an issue with my battery draining fast (it's what mostly come up when I try the search) but it's just that, as of late, my phone shuts down when I have about 20% of the battery remaining. I am out of warranty by only a month, this seems to have started with iOS 7.

Just re-calibrate the battery. (Let it run down to zero so that it shuts down manually then let it charge until 100%. Don't disconnect before full charge.) I do this at least one a month and my percentage indicator is pretty accurate.

I wonder if the issue was the cold weather. I was trying to get the phone to discharge per your suggestion and it lasted for an entire day! I am now starting to think that maybe while the phone sat in my car the cold would make the battery discharge faster and kill it. Anyway, I charged it to a full charge without disconnecting just to make sure. Seems to be working fine now.
