iOS update erased my apps. Help me please!

I recently did the new 7.0.4 update on my phone and it deleted all of my apps and all of my back ups. Everything else, to my knowledge, is still in working order. When I go into the iCloud tab and click the storage/back up tab and go to manage storage it shows me all the apps that I should have from my last back up. It tells me to choose the ones I would like to back up they're all selected to be backed up but when I plug my phone up to my computer, and click restore back up, there aren't any back ups and it says that I haven't backed up my phone at all which isn't true. How do I fix this? Sugggestions anyone?

If backed up to iCloud rather than your computer, you don’t restore it using iTunes. You restore it using your wifi.

To restore your iCloud backup, eject your phone from iTunes and disconnect it from your computer. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

Thanks but i just tried that and got the same results. I think my phone is screwed forever :-/. Thank you again for the advice though.

If your phone is signed into the iCloud account you backed up to (in Settings>iCloud), go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage. If you don't see any backups listed under Backups at the top then, unfortunately, you don't have one to restore to.

I see back ups. It says the latest one was from 10:00 pm and all the apps I'm supposed to have are listed below that. The question is how do I get them to show up in my home screen?

Is your phone you are trying to restore the backup to running the same or higher version of iOS as the phone you backed up? (You can check in Settings>General>About>Version.)

It's ok if it's running a higher version, but it can't be running a lower version. Is it running either the same version or a higher version of iOS?

Then you should be able to restore the backup.

When you go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, what does it say after "Last Backup:" at the very bottom (under Back Up Now)?

Then I see no reason why you can't restore the backup. Try again.

Go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will completely erase the phone and bring up the setup assistant. Go through the setup screens again, and when you get the option, choose Restore From iCloud Backup (see image below). Follow the prompts to sign into the iCloud account containing the backup, accept the terms & conditions, etc. You should be presented a list of available backups to choose from and it should contain your backup from 10:00 pm. Be sure the phone is connected to wifi and your charge while it is restoring the backup.

Make sure your phone is not connected to your computer while doing this. It should only be connected to your wifi.

I did this already and the back up that I need (which is no where to be found) is from any day before the eighth. That's when everything went wrong.

Oh. I thought you were looking for your last backup, not an earlier one (if that's what you mean).

Apple states that it keeps up to your most recent three backups, space permitting in your iCloud account. The older backup that you're looking for may no longer be in iCloud. If it is, you may need to tap "Show older backup..." to see it.
