I did not find this info on the iPod Touch Tech Specs page:
http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/specs.html
The only iPod having a HD is the iPod Classic:
If you goggle it discussions come up. It appears the 32g has a hard drive and the 64g uses a flash drive, stability and improved function seem to be the reason. Hope this helps.
As Ingo said, all the iPod touches have soldi state flash memory. Only the iPod Cassic has a spinning hard drive.
Post some links that demonstrate other wise

Sorry... Bad intel. The info I looked at was posted incorrectly-- should have done a better checked of the source. (Shouldn't attempt to think before the first cup of coffee) All iPod 5 use flash drives, that is correct and the reason is stability and better function. Off topic here, but, I did pick up some interesting info on replacing the hard drive in a iPod Classic with a 32g flash drive-- surprisingly easy, but that's for another forum.
