I'm really confused because my friend can access recent stories yet I am unable to. I can only access classics please help me as I'm really confused :/

What country are you in ? Not all countries currently have paid-for books, they just have free classics.
Do you have access to other ebook apps/stores e.g. Amazon/Kindle, Nook, Kobo ?
