Mac Mini Problem

Hello guys,

I bought a Mac Mini of someone but there is Windows 7 installed on it.

So I wanted to go back to OS X, I used CMD + R while starting up and went into the Disk Utility.

I deleted all the partitions and tried to install OS X 10.7 (Lion) again.

It said I need 2GB RAM before I would be able to do this, so I put another 1GB RAM in it. (Compatible with Mac)

So after that I turned it back on with CMD + R but it shows me an error.

The error: Apple.com/support - 1001F (2048/1024)

Above that it shows a globe with an error sign in it.

I only got an Install CD of Mac OS X 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) and if I put this in and start it up while holding C it just shows the Apple logo and doesn't do anything, after I called Apple they told me you can't install 10.6 on it.

So now it's stuck and I don't know what to do.

Anyone else got this problem? Please tell me what you did.

Thanks anyway!

What year is it? What OS was originally installed on it?

Assuming your Mac Mini was pre-installed with Lion or above, you can try Internet Recovery by restarting while pressing/holding the COMMAND+R+OPTION keys until you see a spinning globe. After the progress bar completes and if your Mac is able to do Internet Recovery you should get to the OS X Utilities Menu where you can use Disk Utility to erase your Macintosh HD and then Reinstall OS X.

Hello keg55,

It's probably from 2011 because the copyrights are from 2010.

I don't know which OS was originally installed on it because it had Windows already when I bought it.

But I think it's always pre-installed with Lion.

I tried the COMMAND+R+OPTION keys but then it gives me an error code:

Apple.com/support - 1001F (2048/1024).

When I Google the error code it doesn't find anything. =/
