BitTorrent App Is Open Every Time I Start My Computer

I downloaded the BitTorrent app. Now every time I start my macbook pro (using 10.6.8) the application is open and I have to physically close it down. I've tried closing it different ways but it keeps happening. Not a huge burden but definitely a weird one. Any help out there for how to stop this?
