Bootcamps deleted, Cant resize my partition and still asked if i would like to restart in windows...

Hello,

13" Macbook Pro Retina 256gb 8gb 2013 Mavericks

So i have moved to paralells from boot camp, deleted bootcamp and attempted to resize my partition and all i get is the "preparing to partition disk" and thats where it stays nothing happens.

Ive tried in startup recovery by holding option key and alterintivly holding CMD-R both of them dont get passed the "preparing to partition disk" either.

ive noticed when restarting or shutting down it still asks if i would like to reopen in windows.. and when i let it do so it attempts to start windows 8.1 back up trying to repair itself with no sucsess...

Please any input on my situation id like to get my 50 GB back, and rid of any ghost windows bootcamp files still floating about...

Try rebooting with Option key depressed.

See if OS X partition is found then.

If not, it means that you have lost the OS X partition when you delete the BootCamp partition.

Not quite sure what you mean depressed, restarting it with nothing pressed? just boots up as normal..

i still have full use of my computer just cant resize my partition theres 50gb empty space

If you hold down or depress the Option key during boot, the Mac should find all the bootable devices available and dsiplay them so that you can select which one you wish to boot from.

I am suggesting you try that to see if the partition containing OS X is found or not and then report back here what you found.

Have you attempted to boot from Recovery Partition either with Command + R or Option then selecting the Recovery 10.9?

If you can do that you can start Disk Utility to repair the Mac partition and then boot from it.

If that doesn't work reinstall 10.9 and reboot fron the Mac partition after the reinstall.

Hello,

I had already done all this, however i have just done it again for good messure.

Still not partitioning and still asking to reopen in windows when shutting down or restarting 😟

There must be traces of the windows bootcamp somewhere as it attempts to load and repair itself if i let it load back up in windows...
