Q: I keep getting disconnected via Firewall

I have a 2009 Macbook Pro (10.9, up to date) that I'm trying to "migrate" to my new Macbook Pro via Thunderbolt adaptor to Firewire.

Following the steps, I can see my old laptop icon (but not it's HDD icon as seen in Apple's tutorial page) on my new laptop's migration window.  I click continue, both serial numbers match and after the intializing ensues for about a minute, the new laptop disconnects and the old laptop's screen says "connection lost, trying to reconnect".

After three attempts, I ask for some help...HELP!

Thanks,

Robert

------------------------->ALSO, everything is update to date on both CPUs, the new laptop's sharing is set as follows: internet sharing OFF, Share connection using: THUNDERBOLT Firewire.  File sharing is the only box checked as all other functions don't seem to matter for my specific goal.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
