internet recovery (Lion): "Install Mac OS X" without progress
Hello,
since my old HDD broke overnight (Apple Store would do the analysis, so it's gotta be the HDD), I replaced it with a new one and am now trying to reinstall Mac OS X Lion.
Since there's no recovery partition on the new drive, I'm using internet recovery mode to get the operating system back running. However, as it downloads the OS and reboots and then installs it (which takes roughly 60mins), it would stop at a remaining time of 5mins. The windmill is rotating, which means the system is not frozen. I've read that one should leave it like that for a little while and wait, but it's been almost an hour now without any changes and I'm starting to think it's got to be something else.
I tried to do the whole procedure all over, but it's always the same. I even erased the HDD a couple of times (proper format, Journaled extended), but that didn't do the job, either.
Could anyone please help me or give a hint what I could try out before I go crazy?
Thank you very much in advance.
Fabian
