Dec 12, 2013 1:08 PM in response to david.menzelby Isitututu,Hi David,
Thanks for your help!
I have the "Turn on time zone support" ticked on the iCal>Preferences>Advanced, and I also have "set time zone automatically using current location" ticked on the System Preferences>Date and Time>Time Zone. Should these not be ticked?
My problem with turning the "Turn on time zone support" function off in iCal is that I need to send invites throgh to people who are in differnt time zones and the only way that this is possible seems to be to leave this box ticked, otherwise iCal doesn't have an option of selecting their time zone for the invite.

Dec 12, 2013 1:13 PM in response to Isitututuby david.menzel,I totally understand that you need this feature in order to set up meetings with people in other time zones, but as you already supposed it was exactly this checkbox which sometimes causes also problems in my calendar.
