External effects in LPX

Hi

I'm new to Logic Pro. Have finally managed to hook up my external reverb with aux send / return. Can anyone tell me, or point me to some instructions: is it possible to record the audio plus the effect, to free up the effect for a different type of reverb on a subsequent track?
