I have purchased GarageBand for 4,49€ and installed on my iPad 3.
Now I got an old iPhone 3GS, iTunes lets me download GarageBand without costs. (I am using another computer).
However when I install it (synch with iPhone), iTunes says the app is for iOS 7 (but for sure iPhone 3GS supports iOS 6.1 at max).
Any way I can download GarageBand compatible with iOS6???

Nope. The iTunes App Store only carries the most recent version of the apps for sale.
So I'm out of luck here ... 😟?

I think so yes. With iTunes. If the iPad version will run on iPhone.

There is nothing new going on here. Apple has always sold only the current version since the first iOS devices needed apps. And Apple has constantly told folks to safegaurd their content by backing up, as there will come a time in the future when certain content is no longer available. If you have the app in the version that you want on an iOS device, then you should do an internet search on how to download the app and sync it to another iOS device. Be very careful of syncing an iOS device to iTunes if you have never done so, iTunes starts out by erasing the device.
