Q: Viewer is playing up and 'star rating' icon has disappeared?
Hi, please see screenshot:
In viewer, the images tend to freeze or double up. The text is also pixellated. Also, the various icons i.e. 'star rating' have diasappered from between the viewer and browser panes. Any ideas?

For the missing control icons between Viewer and Browser try the View menu:
View > Browser > Show Sort & Filter Controls ⇧⌘F .
For the scrambled Viewer, try first to quit Aperture and restart the Computer.
If that does not help, it might a problem with a broken Preferences file:
Quit Aperture and move the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist from your User library in your Home folder to the Trash.
Log off and on and try again to start Aperture. (see this link: Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics )
