My Mac acts as if I am holding down the Command button. Help?

Every few minutes, why I try to type something, my Mac flips out and it tries to open applications, or print web pages. It acts like I am holding down the Command button, which I am not. When I try and open an application, it will open up the applications folder with the application that I want to open highlighted. I can not find ANYONE with this same issue, and I sure hope that someone knows how to fix it. Not happy about this right now.
