TV . A message comes up saying, 'The connected display is not supported

Please help - I have a netflix account but it won't play video onto my Apple TV. I have setup the mirror but a message comes up saying 'the connected display is not supported'. What does this mean? The netflix icon so not appearing on the home screen of my Apple TV either. Thanks!

Setup "the mirror"? What does that mean?

Are you saying your are only missing the Netflix icon and no others?

Netflix requires HDCP support to display content.

Thanks everyone for your posts. I got onto an apple store and the problem was my chosen region didn't allow for some content to be played. All sorted now. Thanks again!
