Ipad Mini Retina Sprint Network Compatibility
I just purchased an Ipad Mini Retina branded Sprint. Am I going to be able to use it with other carriers. Is the Ipad going to work with carriers in Europe?

if its already with sprint u will need to contact ur carrier and get it unlocked for use with other carriers. same thing for out of country use.
You will only be able to use it with other carriers who are partners with Sprint. http://www.sprint.com/popups/pop-gprsCarriers.html shows which carriers in which countries you can use it with.

zelous,
I'm pretty sure you don't need an unlocked phone, as Sprint has partners that you can use to roam on their networks. My friend has Sprint and travels all around the world and has coverage even without an unlocked phone.
I'm sorry but what do you exactly mean? Does the Ipad Mini Retina branded Sprint have the Lte/Gsm chip compatible with all the networks? Both USA and Europe?
The Sprint SIM is compatible with only the networks that have a contract with Sprint. This works in all of the countries listed at http://www.sprint.com/popups/pop-gprsCarriers.html
I'm sorry probably I didn't explain myself clearly. My question is: Can I change SIM card and use a different sim from another carrier if I purchased the Ipad Mini Retina branded Sprint??
Yes, but that may be more expensive than roaming because you may have to buy a plan from the carrier as well.
Yes but since I'm going to bring it in Europe and use it for a long time there I wanted to know if it will work with other sim of European carriers
It most likely will as long as it is the same size (there is SIM and Micro SIM).
Ok last question that may help to solve my doubt: how many version of Ipad Mini Retina wifi+cellular exist ?
Versions as in generations (e.g. iPhone 3GS was 3rd generation, 4 was 4th gen, 4S was 5th, etc.)?
No, I mean for example of the IPhone 4 exist 2 version one for gsm network and one for CDMA network. Same thing for ipad mini 1st gen one was for AT&T and one was for Sprint/Verizon network
I believe there are 32, since there are 16 versions for each color, and 4 versions per carrier.
You do not have to worry about unlocking your iPad to use it with other cell providers, iPads in the US are not locked. The only carrier you would not be able to use your mini with would be Verizon in the US. For all other carriers you just need to get an iPad compatible nanoSIM from whatever carrier you plan to use. Whether you can get LTE speeds depends on the cell provider.
