Warranty apple store, product bought elsewhere

Can I go to any apple store for any repair service although I have bought my iMac on amazon for instance? I wonder why there are plenty of offers online that are cheaper than apple itself... Is there any big advantage if I buy the product directly from apple?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

This is from the Apple website:Your Apple-branded or Beats-branded hardware product (“Product”) is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original retail purchase (“Warranty Period”) when used in accordance with Apple`s user manuals (refer to https://www.apple.com/support/country). Under this warranty, you will be able to direct your claims to Apple even in situations where you purchased the Apple Product from a third party. If a defect arises during the Warranty Period, Apple, at its option will (1) repair the Product at no charge using new parts or parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, (2) exchange the Product with a product with equivalent functionality formed from new and/or previously used parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability or with your consent, a product that is at least functionally equivalent to the product it replaces, or (3) refund the original purchase price. This warranty excludes normal depletion of consumable parts such as batteries unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship and, damage resulting from abuse, accident, modifications, unauthorized repairs or other causes that are not defects in materials and workmanship. Well I havent bought one yet.. I am just trying to figure out whether it is smart or not to save approx. 250$ by buying it somewhere else instead of buying it from apple. Not sure whether it is worth it. If I was sure that I get full service anyhow I would of course buy the cheaper offer...

So I think I need to call them if nobody is 100% sure about this matter..:/

thanks anyway!

Chris, if you post a link to the iMac you are considering perhaps someone can advise you on the merits of purchasing it from them vs. Apple.

There is nothing wrong with purchasing from Amazon but Apple may have a better deal, especially if the one you are considering is already discontinued or used. "Amazon Marketplace", if that is what you are considering, isn't much different than eBay. Both have policies that strongly favor the buyer, but neither source is an ideal place to purchase a Mac for a number of reasons.
