Having problem syncing contacts to iPhone.

On my wife's iPhone 3, the contacts suddenly vanished. I have connected the phone to our Mac to sync the contacts back, but unlike before, I do not see an "Info" tab where it discusses syncing mail, contacts, calendars, etc. Anyone know how to fix?
