Imported subfolders not working

After importing from Entourage, I noticed I couldn't drag & drop messages to put them into different folders. I got:

Error
The message “XYZ” could not be moved to the mailbox “ABC/XYZ — On My Mac”

Now, I realize this is just for imported sub-folders. I have also discovered that imported emails in a sub-folder structure are not imported. Instead I get a 'Not downloaded from server" message.

Is there a way around this? I guess I have to re-import and fix the structure in Entourage first.

Follow-up -- any help much appreciated.

I checked the ~/Library/Mail folder. All the subfolders seem to be there:

XYX.mbox
XYZ/abc.mbox
XYZ/def.mbox
..Etc.
Some of these messages open correctly when I click them from their mbox, others still show "not downloaded from server"

If I choose "Rebuild" all the messages disappear!

<sob> I so want to use Mail </sob>.

Roy,

With Rebuild, it is normal for all messages to disappear, but without other problems being present, they should shortly reappear.

In ~/Library/Mail, are all the imported folder in the Mailboxes folder, or are some found in account folders?

Open a XYZ.mbox and report the files and folder within? Then open a XYZ/abc.mbox folder, and reports its contents?

We should be able to get this to work.

Ernie
